Taylor Co. finishes regular season with three straight home tilts

By Bobby Brockman

Taylor County controlled the clock for over 18 minutes in first half and nearly 38 minutes in the game, but Lexington Catholic dominated the scoreboard in a 56-8 district rout against the visiting Cardinals.
TCHS (3-4 overall and 0-3 vs. district foes) lost four first-half fumbles as the Knights tallied six touchdowns.
Trailing 49-0, the Cardinals did take the zero off their side of the board when senior Dylan Bright tallied from five yards out and also ran in the two-point conversion.
Bright finished with 37 rushing yards, second behind junior Brandon Williams’ 51.
Hunter Christie passed for 84 yards with Williams snatching four for 46 yards and Connor Fair grabbing three for 20.
Taylor County needs a home win on Friday night vs. Mercer County to have any chance at a post-season berth.
