Sheriff's Office

The Taylor County Sheriff's Office released its September activity report.

The report includes 32 cases opened, 378 criminal arrests, 18 traffic collisions worked, one injury collision worked, 391 arrest warrants served, 153 civil papers served, 28 citations issued, two DUI arrests, 536 complaints answered, 71 vehicles inspected, 1,344 hours worked and 9,365 miles driven.

Kentucky State Police

During the month of September, Kentucky State Police troopers working the Post 15 area that includes Taylor, Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, Marion, Metcalfe, Monroe, Russell and Washington counties, investigated 20 traffic crashes.

There were two fatal crashes during the month of September in the Post 15 area. Caleb Capps of Edmonton was killed in Adair County on Sept. 6. Batel Bharatkumar of Albany was killed in Clinton County on Sept. 30.

This brings the yearly fatality count to 29 compared with 30 through the same period in 2011.

Statewide fatality count stands at 543 compared with 537 through the same period in 2011.

During the month of September, there were 1680 citations written, 350 courtesy notices written, 2326 vehicles inspected, 722 complaints answered, 94 motorists assisted, 88 criminal cases opened and 201 criminal arrests made.
