Freshmen Melly Heaton and Courtney Danis sparked the Campbellsville University Lady Tigers to wins over Dillard and Harris-Stowe in the Holiday Inn Express Holiday Hoops on Tuesday and Wednesday in the Powell Athletic Center.
The Lady Tigers (8-5) raced out to a huge lead vs. Dillard on Tuesday night and held on for an 88-81 triumph.
Heaton, from Caldwell County, nailed eight of her 13 three-point attempts and finished with 26 points in a 22-minute reserve role.
Danis (13), Jenna Hedges (11) and Sara Sexton (10) also reached double figures for coach Ginger Colvin's team.
Kristi Ensminger grabbed a game-high nine rebounds while Priscila Alves had five assists and four steals and Hedges four assists.
Campbellsville jumped to another early lead and never trailed in a 70-59 victory over Harris-Stowe on Wednesday afternoon.
Danis, from Montgomery County, totaled 28 points while five other CU teammates scored at least six points.
Hedges, the point guard, had eight defensive rebounds while Danis had six caroms.
The Lady Tigers return to action on Friday when they play St. Francis at Shawnee State in Portsmouth, Ohio.
CU battles Notre Dame College on Friday before hosting Northwestern Ohio on Friday, Jan. 4 (6:00).
