Lambuth's Lady Eagles, the defending NAIA Division 1 national champions, used an 18-3 run to end the first half and never looked back in an 85-74 win on Saturday over the Campbellsville University Lady Tigers in the Citizens Bank Classic.
The Lady Eagles took their largest lead, 46-26 at the start of the second half before Campbellsville managed to claw within eight points at 74-66 with 2:47 remaining when Courtney Danis' basket pulled the Lady Tigers within single digits.
But, Lambuth outscored Campbellsville 11-8 over the final two minutes of the game to improve to 7-4 while Campbellsville fell to 6-5.
Campbellsville was led by Danis' 20 points while Priscila Alveas and Kristi Ensminger had 18 and 10, respectively.
Lambuth was led by Yolanda Johnson's 37 points.
The Lady Tigers host Dillard and Harris-Stowe in the Holiday Inn Express Holiday Hoops Classic on Dec. 18-19.

Shawnee State overcame a 13-point second-half deficit to win over the Campbellsville University Lady Tigers in overtime on Friday in the first game of the Citizens Bank Classic.
The Lady Bears took their first lead of the game with 7:31 remaining as the two teams played to a 64-64 tie at the end of regulation. Shawnee State then outscored Campbellsville 15-8, behind 70.2 percent shooting in the second half and overtime to claim the seven-point win. It was the seventh straight win for the Lady Bears.
Campbellsville managed to go just 5-29 from the three-point line and made only 9 of 18 free-throws in its second overtime loss of the season.
The Lady Tigers were led by Kristi Ensminger with 19 points.
