Taylor County's Lady Cardinals stayed within striking distance throughout the first half, but the Tacarra Hayes-Marion County Lady Knights used a 10-0 start in the third quarter to roar past the visitors 70-39 on Friday night in Lebanon.
Taylor County (8-12) led only once (5-4) on MeLeigha Pollock's two free throws at 4:10 in the first quarter. However, the Lady Cardinals stayed within striking distance (31-21) at the half as Cayla Rucker hit a pair of three-point baskets and finished the second period with a conventional three-point play.
