Lady Indians pull away late from Campbellsville

Adair County's Lady Indians used a second-half run to pull away from Campbellsville 59-36 Tuesday night in Columbia.

Coach Mike Sneed's Lady Eagles held three first-quarter leads before Adair County used 10 points from Carli Burton to pull ahead for good.

CHS trailed only 21-20 before the Lady Indians scored the final four points of the first half.

The Lady Eagles stayed within striking distance and trailed only 35-31 when Bronte Karr nailed a three-pointer at 3:51 of the third quarter.

However, Adair County tallied 15 of the next 19 points and never led by less than double digits down the stretch.

Karr led Campbellsville with a game-high 19 points while Tiffany Slone added nine.

Burton was one of four Lady Indians in double figures with 15 while Chene Smith added 12 and Hannah Peck and Chelsea Beard 11 apiece.

Campbellsville (0-5) visits Metcalfe County on Saturday.

Campbellsville played at Spencer County on Thursday and came back home with a 65-40 setback.

The Lady Eagles were down 17 at the half and never got any closer in the final two quarters.

Bronte Karr led CHS with 16 points while Tiffany Slone added 12.

The Lady Eagles did win the junior varsity encounter 35-33.
