Lady Eagles stumble out of gate

A 22-7 start by Russell County spelled a 59-48 defeat for the Campbellsville High School Lady Eagles at home on Friday night to the Lady Lakers.

CHS (2-17) won the last three quarters 41-37, but could not overcome the 15-point, first-quarter deficit.

Danielle Morris, who made the all-tournament and all-academic team at the Touchstone Energy Fifth Region All "A" Classic in Bardstown, led the Lady Eagles with 22 points, seven rebounds, five assists and two steals.

Bronte Karr and Tiffany Slone added eight points, four rebounds and two assists apiece for Campbellsville. Mary Brower also had four rebounds for the Lady Eagles.
