Thomas Nelson is seventh straight victim before Green County downs Campbellsville 5-1 on Tuesday

Campbellsville’s Lady Eagles saw its season-opening, seven-game winning streak end with a 5-1 home loss to Green County on Tuesday night.
Coach Weston Jones’ knotted the score at 1-1 in the bottom of the first on a double by Paige Dabney, but were unable to dent the plate again despite a two-hit game from Heather Bailey and hits from Cassie Squires and two walks by Kailey Morris.
Green County used the four-hit pitching from Mony Matney and three hits from Kayla Bale to earn its seventh triumph in nine outings.
Campbellsville had defeated Metcalfe County 9-2 last Thursday and Thomas Nelson 13-3 on Monday with Dabney getting both pitching victories while also getting three hits and a walk vs. Metcalfe and three safeties vs. Thomas Nelson.
Halie Bloyd and Brenna Wethington had two hits apiece vs. Metcalfe with Squires and Keena Angel having two runs batted in.
Wethington had two RBI vs. Thomas Nelson while Kailey Morris had two singles.
