CHS girls trounce St. Francis in Louisville

By Bobby Brockman

Campbellsville High School’s Lady Eagles saw two regular seasons end for a pair of seniors while two eighth graders showed they might be ready to take leadership roles with double-digit efforts in a 59-16 road victory at St. Francis in Louisville on Friday night.
“Heather (Watson) has shot the ball really well most of the season and Brittany (Vaught) has been back to scoring like she did last year,” Lady Eagles’ head coach Richard Dooley said of his seniors.
“Brenna (Wethington) has rebounded extremely well lately and Caroline (McMahan) is becoming much more confident on offense lately and was already contributing so much on the defensive end,” remarked Dooley of his eighth-grade stand-outs.
Three CHS players reached double figures in scoring with McMahan tallying 13, Vaught 12 and Watson 10 while Wethington grabbed 12 rebounds.
The Lady Eagles (9-20) must face Adair County (23-7) in the first round of the 20t District Tournament on the Lady Indians’ home court on Thursday night.
