Lady Eagle tailspin continues

-A A +A

With 41-31 road loss to Fort Knox

By Bobby Brockman

The month of February has not been kind to the Campbellsville High School Lady Eagles.
After a 50-34 setback at home to Thomas Nelson on February Eve (Jan. 31), the Lady Eagles have failed to reach the 40-point plateau in their last five games, including Tuesday’s 41-31 loss at Fort Knox.
Campbellsville trailed only 24-21 at half-time and 31-28 after three periods  at Fort Knox, who they beat by 23 (63-30) less than a month ago.
However, the Lady Eagles could muster only three points in the fourth frame and thwarted any chance of a comeback road triumph.
Campbellsville finishes its busy work schedule with five games in a nine-days stretch.
• The Lady Eagles (3-20) play at Washington County tomorrow in a girl/boy doubleheader, beginning at 6:00 in Springfield.
• The Campbellsville girls will entertain Bethlehem on Friday in a varsity-only home game at 6:30.
• In the final week of regular-season action, coach Richard Dooley’s troops will play at Green County on Tuesday and at Bullitt Central on Friday around a home encounter with powerful LaRue County on Thursday.
• In the 20th District Tournament at Marion County on Tuesday, Feb. 25, the No. 4-seed Lady Eagles will play the winner of tonight’s Marion County at Adair County game in the opening encounter.
