Green County High School’s Lady Dragons used a run of 12-2 in the first quarter, a 24-4 spurt in the second frame and a 14-2 start in the third period to race past home-standing Taylor County 71-31 on Friday night.
Green County (5-2) was led by its backcourt of junior Rachel Marr and Western Kentucky University-bound Micah Jones with 20 and 16 points, respectively, with sophomore Kayla Bale adding 11.
Senior Rachel Riggs led Taylor County with 13 points.
The Lady Cardinals (3-3) will compete in the second annual Food Pantry Holiday Classic at Campbellsville High School today through Wednesday.
Taylor County battles Pulaski County in a first-round match-up tonight (7:00).
