Lady Cards ride a Mercedes to title game

Taylor County Middle School's seventh-grade girls' basketball teams posted a pair of Central Kentucky Middle School Athletic Conference Tournament wins to advance to tonight's championship game at Lebanon.

The Lady Cardinals (14-4) downed Hart County 43-11 on Monday in Munfordville before edging Green County 29-28 in overtime on Tuesday.

Mercedes Cox scored 17 points while Lauren Moss added 12 in the victory over Hart County.

Cox made 14 of 16 free throws, including a pair with three seconds left in overtime at Green County, and scored 20 points while Moss added the other nine.

The TCMS eighth graders (5-13) were eliminated by Hart County 46-21 in Monday's first round.

Kelsey Mings had eight points for the Lady Cardinals.
