Lady Cards handle Hart

Quartet combines for 48 of 52 points in 14-point victory

Taylor County High School’s Lady Cardinals stopped their four-game losing streak by upending Hart County on the road 52-38 on Saturday night.
“We looked a lot better,” coach Whitney Hooper said. “We got back to playing hard.”
The Lady Cardinals (11-10) broke away from a 12-11 first-quarter lead to take the last three periods 11-7, 15-9 and 14-11 to win for the second time over the Lady Raiders (5-14).
Freshman point guard Rachel Shoemaker led TCHS with 18 points while junior Haley Wright added 11, senior Becca Orberson 10 and sophomore Reagan Pollock nine.
The Lady Cardinals’ game with Fort Knox was cancelled on Monday and they will play at Marion County on Friday (6:30) and at home on Saturday (5:00) in girl/boy doubleheaders.
