Lady Cards come back to down CHS

16-0 sparks TCHS' girls to 52-41 triumph.

Campbellsville led for the first 28 minutes, but Taylor County’s Lady Cardinals used a 16-0 run en route to a 52-41 home victory over the Lady Eagles on Tuesday night.
CHS (0-3) built a 20-15 half-time lead behind Tiffany Slone’s seven points and four by Heather Watson and a three-pointer from Graison Biggs.
Coach Cameron Jackson’s club overcame its third tie at 33-33 when Watson nailed a right-wing trey with 4:38 left in the cross-town shoot-out.
However, TCHS freshman Haley Wright tallied 14 of her 15 points in the final four minutes to ignite coach Jenny Jessie’s club.
Rachel Riggs had kept Taylor County within striking distance by tallying all of her game-high 21 points in the first 27 minutes.
Becca Orberson added eight points and Hannah Howard seven for the Lady Cardinals (2-1).
Slone led the Lady Eagles with 14 points while Watson and Brittany Vaught had eight apiece and Biggs seven.
Taylor County plays at Adair County in a girl/boy doubleheader on Friday while Campbellsville hosts Shelby County tomorrow. in junior varsity/varsity action.
