KSP citizen police academy to begin Sept. 3

Kentucky State Police Post 15 is now accepting applications for the 2012 Kentucky State Police Citizens Police Academy.

The 10-week academy is slated to begin Monday, Sept. 3, and will meet every Monday from 7 to 9:30 p.m. through graduation on Monday, Nov. 5.

Attendees will learn about the many facets of the Kentucky State Police to include classroom topics such as criminal patrol, criminal investigations and drug investigations. Participants will also take part in simulated traffic stops, crime scene scenarios and evidence collection.
