Judge offers updates on county projects

-A A +A

As Taylor County Judge/Executive, I would like to remind the citizens my door is always open to the public.
Items of interest:

  •  The Taylor County Animal Shelter Expansion is closer to being complete. This will be a new building, new services and there will be several benefits to the community.
  •  14th Annual Commonwealth Cleanup Week is set for March 17-24. This is a volunteer event, so those interested can contact Debbie McNear for information and any paperwork needed.
  •  PRIDE Cleanup is March 1 through April 30. Please contact Debbie McNear for all the information and paperwork needed on this volunteer program.
  •  Nonprofit organizations can be eligible for our litter abatement program, as long as we have the funds available. This will be in conjunction with the Commonwealth and PRIDE Cleanups.
  •  We are gaining ground on upgrading our recycling efforts for Taylor County. We need to gear up our education program for the recycling program.
  •  Fiscal Court meeting is the second Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m., unless there is a conflict to reschedule a different date.
  •  We have received a federal grant for Taylor County Fire Department, which includes fire fighting equipment for all volunteers.
