John Gaines received the Taylor Regional Hospital Hero Award on Nov. 13 at the TRH Annual Service Awards Banquet at Campbellsville University.
Gaines is a 28-year team member at Taylor Regional Hospital and is the team leader in the plant operations department. The following was said about Gaines on his nomination form:
"John is always committed to making sure work orders are completed. John always does his job expertly and willingly. You can call him for help and he tries his best to accommodate you and help you with your problem. He is also instrumental with devotions in the morning at TRH. He is an all around good guy and serves joyfully. John is always a positive role model, not only at TRH but also in the community."
Gaines has been married to Carolyn Gaines for 39 1/2 years and they have two children, John Richard and Lee Ann Ennis. They also have seven grandchildren.
He is a member of Liberty Baptist Church where he serves as deacon, assistant Sunday school director and building and grounds committee. He is active in the Emmaus community and is a past board member of Campbellsville Emmaus. He is currently in his second term on Taylor County Fiscal Court.
Other nominees for this award included LoAnne Calmes, Glenda Colvin, Linda Marcum, Angela Morrison, Cindy Rose and Dreama Spalding.
