The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers recently had a contest for school-aged children to submit a name for its new 18-foot water safety display.

The display is meant to attract attention as well as make visitors to the lake think about water safety.

"Billy Floats A lot" was chosen as the winning name and was submitted by Jordan Humphress, 13, of Knifley. Humphress' entry was chosen based on how catchy it was and how his description promoted water safety.

Humphress' description, "He is wearing a lifejacket and because of this he will float," is exactly what Green River Lake's water safety message is all about. As the chosen winner, Humphress was presented with a $100 gift card provided by Wal-Mart Supercenter of Campbellsville.
