They were asked to open their hearts and their wallets. And that's what they did. About $5,000 was raised Sunday at the annual tea and auction at Campbellsville University to benefit Hosparus of Central Kentucky. Several local companies sponsored the event, which raises money for Hosparus to serve its patients who don't have insurance with end-of-life care. Local "celebrity" waiters served tea, coffee and water for tips. Donations were accepted and many items were auctioned. Local residents also bought tickets to the event and businesses pitched in by paying for tables, which were decorated to the nines.
