Heads swiveled as they raised their hands high. Others clapped their hands together in appreciation.
Veterans of America's wars were recognized and honored Sunday at Taylor County's annual Veterans Day ceremony. Some wore their uniforms and medals; others wore jeans.
But all had one thing in common - service to their country.
Nearly 100 people attended Sunday's event, with local dignitaries and politicians speaking before the crowd. Patty Waters sang, "God Bless the USA," and Lonnie Malone played the bugle.
Billy Perkins was the master of ceremonies.
