Home damaged, car destroyed by fire

A fire damaged a home and destroyed a car at a home in the Holly Brook subdivision Saturday afternoon.

According to a Taylor County Fire & Rescue news release, firefighters responded to a report of the fire at 507 Fern Drive at 2:36 p.m. Saturday.

The report states the property was owned by Robert Shipp. Firefighters arrived to find a heavy volume of fire at the rear of the home near the carport, extending to the interior portion of the house.
