Heart of Kentucky Heritage & Soul Festival is this weekend

The Heart of Kentucky Heritage & Soul Festival brings the Unlimited band to Lebanon this weekend, along with many other educational and entertaining activities.

Unlimited has opened for bands such as Midnight Star and the Average White Band and has shared the stage with SOS Band, The Emotions, KC & the Sunshine Band, Nappy Roots, Parliament Funkadellic and Al Green.

Other featured speakers and performers include Herlon Robinson, Hasan Davis, the River City Drum Corp, Hannah Drake, Mike B the Jazz Poet and Javacia Harris. There will also be a college fair with admissions counselors answering questions for parents and students and some scholarships by participating schools and a bourbon sampling before the Unlimited performance Saturday night.

In the past, the Festival has featured renowned sculptor Ed Hamilton, Escalade and Carlis Phillips and dramatic performances such as OurStory.

Some portions of the festival are free but tickets are required for others. Tickets can be purchased online at www.visitlebanonky.com or at the Lebanon Tourist & Convention Commission office at 239 N. Spalding Ave. in Lebanon.
