Senior Christopher Hudson is being recruited as a Division 1 wide receiver, but it was junior running back Brandon Jones who stole the show with five touchdowns in Hazard’s 34-8 victory over visiting Campbellsville in high school football play-off action on Friday night.
“We should have scored two more times and the score would have been respectable,” Eagle coach Dale Estes remarked. “But, they took advantage of their opportunities and we didn’t.”
Campbellsville (4-8) left points on the field when they could not tally inside the Bulldog 20 and Jones completely baffled the Eagle defense.
CHS cut it to 20-6 on Arick Groves 22-yard run down the right sideline, but could only score two more points on an Eric Lamer blocked punt for a safety with 4:33 left in the game.
