A Greensburg man has been arrested and charged with his second DUI.

Steven D. Mitchell, 22, of 192 Highway 88 was arrested at 2:52 a.m. Saturday, April 11.

According to Mitchell's arrest citation, he was stopped by Campbellsville Police Officer Ryan Jewell for failing to wear a seat belt.

The citation states that Mitchell told Jewell he was drunk and to take him to jail. He also told Jewell there was cocaine in his vehicle and he had been drinking gin.

Court records state that Jewell smelled alcohol on Mitchell and his eyes were red and glassy. The citation states Mitchell's blood alcohol level was .168, higher than the legal limit of .08.

Mitchell was charged with failure to wear a seat belt, driving with a suspended or revoked driver's license, DUI and first-degree possession of cocaine, both second offenses.

He pleaded not guilty to the charges in Taylor District Court on Monday, April 13. He was appointed a public defender. No bond was set.

Mitchell is expected to appear in court again Wednesday.
