A Greensburg woman has been indicted on charges alleging that she assaulted a police officer.
Marijane Brandenburg, 25, of 109 Riverview St. was indicted Tuesday by a Taylor County grand jury.
She was charged with third- and fourth-degree assault, resisting arrest, alcohol intoxication and being a second-degree persistent felony offender.
According to court records, Campbellsville Police received a complaint of an assault at Wal-Mart Supercenter on Oct. 17.
Records state Brandenburg had assaulted a family member at Wal-Mart, and, when police arrived, was still fighting with the individual.
The citation states Brandenburg attempted to hit Campbellsville Police Officer Jason Simpson while he handcuffed her. Brandenburg was forced to the ground and allegedly kicked Simpson several times before being sprayed with pepper spray.
Bond was set at $10,000 cash. If convicted, Brandenburg could be sentenced to as much as five years in prison. The charge of being a persistent felony offender could increase any sentence she might receive.
Also indicted Tuesday:
- Robert D. Young, 23, of 1550 Miller Road in Campbellsville was indicted on charges of obtaining a controlled substance by fraud and criminal possession of a forged prescription.
According to court records, Campbellsville Police Officer Travis Begley received a call at Nation's Medicine on Oct. 1 that someone was attempting to fill a forged prescription. After an officer arrived at the scene, store employees said that Young had a prescription for Percocet written by a Lebanon doctor that had been altered from 12 pills to 24 pills.
Bond was set at 10 percent of $10,000. If convicted, Young could be sentenced to as much as 10 years in prison.
- Howard W. Gribbins III aka Jody Gribbins, 30, of 211 Kobert Ave. in Lebanon and Justin Pearlman, 33, of 518 Wade Lane in Campbellsville were indicted on charges of second-degree burglary and theft by unlawful taking more than $300. Gribbins was also charged with being a second-degree persistent felony offender.
Bond for Gribbins was set at 10 percent of $20,000. Bond for Pearlman was set at $20,000 unsecured. If convicted, the defendants could each be sentenced to as much as 15 years in prison. The charge of being a persistent felony offender could increase any sentence Gribbins might receive.
- Michael Patrick Bright, 26, of 141 Natures Way in Campbellsville was indicted on charges of DUI, his fourth offense, and driving on a license suspended for DUI.
Bond was set at 10 percent of $15,000. If convicted, Bright could be sentenced to as much as five years in prison.
- Charles Douglas Whitley, 37, of 10051 Saloma Road in Campbellsville was charged with first-degree fleeing or evading police, fourth-degree assault and being a second-degree persistent felony offender.
Bond was set at $10,000. He was ordered to have no contact with the alleged victim. If convicted, Whitley could be sentenced to as much as five years in prison. The charge of being a persistent felony offender could increase any sentence he might receive.
- Troy E. Curry, 26, of 370 Rosewood Drive in Lebanon and Donald Gene Brockman, 39, and Carla Newton Wilson, 35, both of 108 Lyon St. in Campbellsville, were indicted on charges of theft by unlawful taking more than $300, first-degree criminal mischief and being first-degree persistent felony offenders.
According to the indictment, the defendants are accused of damaging a drink machine valued at more than $1,000.
Bond for each defendant was set at $10,000 cash. If convicted, the defendants could each be sentenced to as much as 10 years in prison. The charge of being a persistent felony offender could increase any sentence they might receive.
In two other separate indictments, Brockman was indicted on two counts of theft by unlawful taking more than $300 and two counts of being a first-degree persistent felony offender.
Bond in those cases was set at $5,000 cash. If convicted on those charges, Brockman could be sentenced to as much as 10 years in prison. The charge of being a persistent felony offender could increase any sentence he might receive.
- Zachery A. Young, 18, of 89 Stuarts Lane in Campbellsville was indicted on charges of first-degree criminal mischief and two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment.
Bond was set at $5,000 cash. If convicted, Young could be sentenced to as much as 15 years in prison.
- Teddy Hord, 36, of 604 Fern Drive in Campbellsville was indicted on a charge of theft by deception more than $300.
Bond was set at 10 percent of $5,000. If convicted, Hord could be sentenced to as much as five years in prison.
