Two local fishing events gave kids a chance to get outside and enjoy the great outdoors on Saturday morning. The Kids' Bluegill Tournament took place at City Lake, while the annual Kids’ Fishing Derby took place at Green River Lake. Larry Lemmon, a park ranger with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, said this is the 14th year for the derby. The Corps of Engineers partners with the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife and Friends of Green River Lake to provide fishing poles, bait and prizes for participants.
