Cookie program makes a world of difference.

By The Staff

Satisfy your sweet tooth while giving girls the vital skills they need to succeed in life. Local Girl Scouts will soon be out selling cookies to the general public.

Girls will start taking orders beginning today, and booth sales are set to begin Feb. 23.

Cookie-lovers everywhere will still be able to purchase the classic Thin Mints, Samoas, Tagalongs, Do-si-dos, Trefoils, Lemon Chalet Crèmes and the sugar-free Chocolate Chips cookies.

In addition, Girl Scouts are introducing a new member of the cookie family - the Dulce de Leche cookie. The Dulce de Leche cookie contains caramel chips and caramel icing.

All Girl Scout Cookies contain zero trans fats per serving.

The cookie program is vital to girl leadership development. By participating in the program, Girl Scouts learn skills like goal setting, business communication, teamwork and money management, which result in girls having more confidence and a higher self-esteem. Proceeds from the cookie program help troops pay for their activities and adventures, as well as allow the Girl Scout Council to support its programs and maintain camp properties.

The annual Girl Scout Cookie program depends on the public's support to make it successful. When you purchase Girl Scout cookies, you're helping our girls grow into strong, successful young women.
