Though rain canceled the majority of Fourth of July celebration events last Thursday, many residents attended events the night before, from the Family Fun Zone to the Children's Parade and K-Country Showdown.

Campbellsville/Taylor County Fourth of July Celebration committee members have rescheduled some events for this weekend.

The annual fireworks show will be at Miller Park on Friday night at dark. Food vendors will be set up and there will be entertainment before the show and a movie in the park will follow.

There could also be some hot air balloons, though that wasn't definite at press time.

The News-Journal's duck derby has been rescheduled for Friday at 5:30 p.m. at the city pool. Ducks are still on sale for $5.

Elk Horn Baptist and Living Grace churches are also selling $5 chances for a motorized scooter that will be given away on Saturday.

The annual parade will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday on Main Street and the car show will be at Campbellsville University.

See Thursday's issue for a complete story about this year's rescheduled events.
