The Campbellsville-Taylor County Fourth of July Celebration Committee recently announced that the theme for the 2008 celebration will be "Celebrating the Life of Lincoln."
The theme is a natural tie-in with the national 200th Anniversary Commemoration of the birth of Abraham Lincoln now under way.
"Celebrating the Life of Lincoln" will also be the theme for the annual Taylor County Bank Parade. Anyone can participate in the parade. All area civic, school and church groups, businesses and individuals are encouraged to develop and enter a float in the AutoSmart Float Contest using this year's theme.
First place prize money is $250, second place $150 and $100 for third.
