Five injured in KY 55 collision

Five people were injured Tuesday afternoon in a two-vehicle collision.

According to a report filed by Taylor County Sheriff's Deputy Robert VanCleave, April A. Helm, 32, of Broadway Street in Corydon, Ky., was attempting to turn her 2005 Mazda left onto Lone Valley Road from KY 55 south at about 5 p.m.

The report states Mark A. Jones, 39, of Underwood Street in Campbellsville was traveling north on KY 55 south when Helm turned into his path and caused him to strike Helm's passenger side door.

Jones, and his passengers Dana R. Jones, 38, Brittany N. Jones, 11, and Shauna R. Jones, 8, were extricated from their vehicle by Campbellsville/Taylor County Rescue personnel.

The report states all parties involved in the collision were transported to Taylor Regional Hospital with injuries.

Dana Jones was later taken to University of Louisville hospital for treatment. As of press time, she was listed in fair condition.

Shauna Jones was admitted to Taylor Regional Hospital and, as of press time, was listed in good condition.

Helm and Brittany Jones were treated and released. Mark Jones, as of press time, was listed in stable condition.
