Fourteen firefighters with two fire trucks responded to a house fire in the early morning hours Friday.
According to a news release from the Campbellsville/Taylor County Fire Department, firefighters responded at 3:36 a.m. to the blaze at 112 1/2 Davis St.
Assistant Chief Bill Hall stated that the fire started in a bathroom at the rear of the house. Doris Cundiff is the owner of the house, and the heaviest fire damage was in the kitchen and bathroom.
Fire Chief Allen Johnson said that arson investigators will be called in, and "At this point, it really looks suspicious."
The investigation continues.
On Friday afternoon, Cundiff said she and her two daughters had received some clothes and are staying with friends. The immediate need, however, is food. Anyone who would like to help the family can contact Cundiff at 849-5321.
