Extension office offers piggy bank pageants

-A A +A

Contest is open to kindergarten through high school students

Taylor County Extension Office is offering a chance to go "hog wild" and celebrate the Kentucky Saves initiative.

Residents can use their creativity to make a piggy bank and save their change.

Banks in Taylor County are hosting preliminary pageants for separate age groups.

Take a "piggy bank" to one of the locations below by Dec. 3 for display and judging.

After Dec. 3, winners from each group will be taken to the Taylor County Extension Office where a county winner will be selected.

Each district will pick the top two winning entries and photos of the winning entries will be displayed in Frankfort at the State Capital Rotunda during the month of February.

Age Groups

Kindergarten, first-grade and second-grade students should take their piggy banks to Fort Knox Federal Credit Union. A prize of a $25 gift card will go to the winner.

Third- and fourth-graders should take their banks to Citizens Bank and Trust Co. Prizes will be $25.

Those in grades five and six should take their piggy banks to Forcht Bank. Winners will receive $50, $35 and $20.
