More than $40,000 was raised at this year's H.O.P.E. Gala sponsored by Taylor Regional Hospital.
According to hospital CEO Jane Wheatley, the money will be used for renovation of the surgical services waiting room.
"I feel very fortunate to be involved in an organization that has the wonderful community support that Taylor Regional Hospital continues to experience," Wheatley said.
"With a record crowd of over 220, including local student volunteers, we were able to raise over $40,000 for the renovation of our surgical waiting area."
Funds are raised through a dinner and silent auction. With the proceeds from the first Gala in 2005, the hospital's pediatric wing was expanded and renovated. Last year's Gala provided funds to start a hospitality van service.
Student volunteers from both Campbellsville and Taylor County high schools served as hosts and hostesses. Each reported an interest in the medical field and a grade point average of at least 3.0.
"We would like to thank all of our volunteers, sponsors, advertisers and supporters for this phenomenal event," Wheatley said.
"It is always humbling and exciting to experience the involvement and dedication of so many for the benefit of our entire community and region."
