With Thanksgiving now over, many people are dragging out decorations to prepare for Christmas. And while decorating the home may be a fun family event, it can be dangerous if done incorrectly.
The No. 1 danger, Campbellsville Fire Chief Allen Johnson said, is overloaded circuits. With people stringing Christmas lights outside their home and indoors on their tree, the chance of overloading a circuit increases.
We see that probably five or six times a year, Johnson said, The older homes that have the circuit panels just cant handle the load.
