Campbellsville took the lead for good with 1:57 left in the first half and posted a 47-44 boys’ basketball victory  at home over Taylor County on Tuesday night.
Taylor County held a pair of four-point, first-quarter leads before a Tony Barrera three by Campbellsville and a Bradley Bates lay-up.
The Cardinals regained the advantage in the second period as Caleb Wigginton hit a pair of baskets around a John Chewning put-back.
A Barrera trey with 5.4 seconds left in the third put the Eagles up 36-27 and Campbellsville tallied the two of the first three hoops in the fourth.
Spirit Smith had eight points in a four-minute stretch for Taylor County, but the Eagles used a Damontez Smith follow and a late free throw for the triumph.

The Eagles won their first game of the season on Saturday 72-36 over Brown in the third game of the Domino’s Pizza Tip-off Classic in Paul J. Coop Gymnasium.
Damontez Smith, A.J. Vaught and Tony Barrera had 13-point games for CHS.
