Eagles roll over Cards in JV football

Groves, Young score 14 points apiece

Campbellsville defeated Taylor County 40-0 in junior varsity football on Monday night.
The Eagles tallied their first score, after runs by Tavon Hunter and Stone Williams, set up quarterback Arick Groves’ two-yard TD punch-in. Kendon Young ran in the conversion to make it 8-0.
In the second frame, CHS scored its second touchdown on a 20-yard run by Groves, set up by runs from Young and Williams. Tavon Hunter scored on the two-pointer for a 16-0 cushion.
The Eagle defense forced a punt before half and on the ensuing play from scrimmage, Young broke a 60-yard TD run and Groves connected with tight end Austin Hash for the conversion. 
On the opening play of the second half, Austyn Thornton took the kickoff back 80 yards to pay dirt with Hunter adding the conversion.
CHS’ last score was when Groves connected   with Young on a 30-yard pass. Groves also ran in the conversion.
Defensively, the Eagles were led by Deston Ford and Austin Hash, who recorded 18 and 15 tackles, respectively.
