Eagles fall in finals at Bardstown

The Campbellsville High School Eagles could not overcome the talented Bardstown Tigers in the championship game of the Touchstone Energy Fifth Region All "A" Classic championship game and fell 85-67.

The Tigers (14-4) led by only one at the end of the first quarter (20-19), but the host team went on a 12-0 run in the second quarter to take a 48-34 lead at the break.

The Eagles (8-12) cut the lead to 10 points in the second half on a couple of occasions but could not get any closer as the Tigers pulled away in the fourth frame. Bryton Taylor led Campbellsville in scoring with 24 points, six straight games the sophomore as scored 20 or more points. The 6-1 guard hit four out of nine threes.

Sophomore Thomas Downs pitched in 12 points and pulled down eight rebounds.

Taylor, Downs and senior Antwan Coulter were named to the all-tournament team while sophomore Bradley Harris made the Fifth Region All "A" Academic team.

Lady Eagle sophomore Danielle Morris made all-tournament and all-academic for CHS.
