In their first meeting of the season, Campbellsville shut out Green County 4-0 on Monday afternoon in the Fifth Region Baseball Tournament at Central Hardin.
After two scoreless frames, the Eagles got a lead-off walk from starting pitcher J.T. Holmes, who was sacrificed to second by Owen Weeks.
Clayton Russell was hit by a pitch and Cody Houk walked loading the bases with two outs.
Austin Hash’s drive to right field went foul before the sophomore singled to left field for a 2-0 Campbellsville advantage.
The Eagles scored single runs in the fifth and seventh. Houk’s single brought in Russell, who had walks and was moved to second by Zach Durham’s sac while Durham doubled and Houk singled before scoring on Julian Pierce’s fielder’s choice.
Weeks and Caleb Gupton also singled for CHS while Colton Bush had three hits and Andrew Nunn two for the Dragons.
