This year's Taylor County Distinguished Young Women contestants met for orientation on Sunday, May 19, at Campbellsville University.

The young women, joined by their parents, were introduced to the committee's volunteers and provided with information about the competition.

The 2014 Distinguished Young Women of Taylor County program will be Saturday, Sept. 7, at 7 p.m. at Campbellsville High School's Hamilton Auditorium.

Between now and Sept. 7, the contestants will participate in community service events, attend many events, participate in DYW Boot Camp and practice for the main scholarship program.

Donations are needed for the Taylor County Junior Miss/Distinguished Young Women scholarship fund. Those interested in making a donation should contact Carol Sullivan, Susan Dabney or Angie Russell.
