Rooms aren't big enough, judge says.

In addition to its discussion of funding for Rescue and E-911 (see the story in the May 14 issue), Taylor Fiscal Court also took action on several other issues at last week's regular meeting.

Also at the meeting:

- Taylor County Judge/Executive Eddie Rogers announced that the Taylor County Detention Center will not be allowed to add the 20 beds the Court recently agreed to purchase from the Casey County jail. He said he has been told that the room in which the beds were going to go doesn't have enough square footage.

Magistrates agreed to purchase the beds at last month's meeting for $8,750. Magistrate James Jones said adding the 20 beds would bring in an additional $200,000 a year.
