New Campbellsville University head football coach Perry Thomas did not have to look far for his initial signee when he inked one of the most famous last names in Central Kentucky with Somerset quarterback Ross Deaton on Thursday.
Deaton, who did not play this fall, threw for 3,726 yards and 43 touchdowns to lead the Briar Jumpers to a 9-5 record in 2006 before being eliminated by eventual Class A state champion Newport Central Catholic.
