Charles Cusumano of Campbellsville has been recognized as a Distinguished Fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
He practices at Crossroads Family Medicine and has been a physician assistant for 33 years.
He is employed by Dr. Jerome Dixon and has worked with Dixon for the past 15 1/2 years.
Cusumano earned the recognition due to his outstanding contributions to patient care and the profession during his years as a physician assistant. He also demonstrated significant dedication and involvement in the community.
He has also been on the allied health staff at Taylor Regional Hospital for 15 years.
Cusumano is a graduate of the inaugural class at Cornell Medical College PA Program in 1975. He is also a member of the Kentucky Academy of Physician Assistants, Association of Family Practice PAs and the American College of Clinicians as well as a community-based instructor for the University of Kentucky College of Allied Health.
He was a co-founder of the Colorado Academy Physician Assistants in 1976.
Cusumano is an honorary chairman from Kentucky to the Republican National Congressional Committee Physician Advisory Board.
