CU employs Garrison in theology

Shane Garrison of Alexandria, Ky., an alumnus of Campbellsville University, has been employed as an instructor in educational ministries at his alma mater.

Garrison has recently served as associate pastor of Main Street Baptist Church in Alexandria. He has served on four church staffs in Kentucky and Texas in various capacities from youth, children and adult education to pastoral care and counseling.

He has also served as the chief administrator of a Christian preschool and grammar school.

Garrison has nearly completed an Ed.D. in leadership from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville. His dissertation topic is "Models of Academic Governance and Institutional Power in Southern Baptist Related Liberal Arts Colleges." His prospectus has been initially approved, and his study will start later this fall.

Garrison has a master of arts degree in Christian education and a master of divinity degree with biblical languages both from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. He graduated with a bachelor of science in religious education from Campbellsville University in 1999.

He is the founder and president of Maple Trail Ministry Consultants, a consulting firm that specializes in helping churches and Christian parachurch organizations.

Garrison and his wife, Jennifer, have two sons, Isaac and Ethan. He enjoys playing tennis, playing the piano and drums and reading. He has a blog at http://fellowtraveler.wordpress.com.
