Louisville Manual tallied 19 of the game's first 21 points and downed Taylor County 77-59 in a quarterfinal game in the 28th Annual Canfield Development King of the Bluegrass Holiday Classic at Fairdale High School on Saturday.

The Cardinals did fight back to cut the deficit to 10 (23-12) with Michael Coulter tallying seven first-quarter points and trailed only by six (24-18) after Chase Cox hit Leonard Macon for a basket and then hit a three-pointer off the left wing.

However, the Crimson's balanced attack (despite playing without its injured star Jacob Jenkins) was too much for Taylor County to fully overcome.

Cox led the Cardinals with 27 points while Macon totaled 18 points and 17 caroms.

Taylor County played Lexington Catholic on Monday at Fairdale and will begin play in the 14th Annual Coca-Cola/Campbellsville University Holiday Classic on Sunday at 7 vs. Mayfield at Campbellsville High School.
