Lexington NBC affiliate WLEX-TV has been honored with nine first-place 2008 Kentucky Associated Press Broadcaster Awards among Class One TV stations.

The winners were announced recently during a ceremony at the Radisson Hotel in Lexington.

WLEX anchor Nancy Cox, a Campbellsville native, was named Best News Anchor in Kentucky, while Sarah Lane was chosen Best Reporter in the state. And LEX18.com received the nod for the Best Web site in the state.

In all, LEX 18's nine first-place KAPB awards were the most by any Class One television station in Kentucky, while competing Lexington stations received a total of four first-place honors. And LEX 18 News received more AP nominations (23) in more categories (16) than any other TV station in the state, and more than all competing Lexington stations combined.
