Taylor County is under a winter weather advisory, with rain, sleet and snow expected to begin this afternoon.
According to Taylor County Emergency Management Public Relations Coordinator Ronnie Dooley, the advisory is from Tuesday afternoon until 5 a.m. Wednesday and includes Taylor and Green counties.
At 4 p.m. or sometime after, Dooley said, a rain, sleet and snow mixture Is expected to start falling. The majority of precipitation will be in the form of sleet.
The National Weather Service has said, by late afternoon, the intensity should increase and bring a better chance for sleet to accumulate.
One to two inches of sleet accumulation is forecast, according to Dooley, with isolated totals of up to four inches possible.
Driving will become hazardous during the advisory, Dooley said.
