Community Action accepting LIHEAP applications

Applications are now being accepted for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program at Lake Cumberland Community Action Agency.

LIHEAP provides heating bill assistance and includes payments for coal, electric, fuel oil, gas (natural and LP), kerosene and wood.

Applications are taken alphabetically by the last name of the head of household. The application period began on Nov. 5, but information was not available before the process began.

If your last name begins with:

u F or G apply on Nov. 15.

u H apply on Nov. 19 or Nov. 20.

u I or J apply on Nov. 21.

u K and L apply on Nov. 26.

u M apply on Nov. 27 or Nov. 28.

u N, O or P apply on Dec. 3.

u Q or R apply on Dec. 4.

u S apply on Dec. 5 or Dec. 6.

u T apply on Dec. 10.

u U, V or W apply on Dec. 11.

u X, Y or Z apply on Dec. 12.

Dec. 13 is an open day for those who missed their assigned day.

Call Lovetta Quinn at 465-6554 to make an appointment. The Lake Cumberland Community Action Agency is located at 110 B N. Jackson St., on the side of the Taylor County Senior Citizens Center.

The most recent heating bill, Social Security number or Permanent Resident Card number for everyone living in the home and proof of total household income for the prior month are required to complete the application.
