CMS sixth-grade class embraces cultural diversity

Campbellsville Middle School sixth-grade students participated in a cultural event on Friday, April 29.

During the activity, students learned more about embracing the diverse cultures across the world, how to research other countries and showed how creative they can be when they presented their countries.

Tiarra Cecil, a sixth-grade social studies teacher, said, "I believe learning takes place in numerous forms, therefore I chose a way in which students would be actively engaged. This event was ideal to provide students with a different way of learning and served as the culminating activity for the year.

"When I was in sixth grade at CMS, we participated in a similar activity in my social studies class, and it was memorable enough to me that I wanted to incorporate it into my classroom as well."
