Central Kentucky News-Journal Publisher Richard RoBards had a meeting earlier this week with employees to discuss plans by parent company Landmark Community Newspapers Inc. to explore selling the Norfolk-based company.
Frank Batten Jr., chairman and chief executive of Landmark Communications Inc., said that the decision to explore the sale of the company was made by him, with input from his entire family.
"There was a consensus of the board of directors to do this," said Batten, who has controlling interest of the private company.
