City residents will see a lower tax rate this year.
Campbellsville City Council members gave final approval to tax rates for 2008-2009 during a special meeting Monday night.
The rate for real property will be .191 per $100 assessed value. Last year's rate was .192.
Personal property will be taxed at a rate of .181. Last year's rate was .185.
The rates are expected to produce $875,359.76 in revenue, an increase of $44,230.30 over last year.
While the rates are lower, Mayor Brenda Allen said, more revenue will be produced because of an increase in property values.
Also at the meeting, the Council approved two zone changes.
Property owned by Cheri L. Mills at 1110 E. Broadway was rezoned highway business district from medium density residential.
Property owned by Charles Higdon Jr. at 401 N. Jackson was rezoned general business district from medium density residential.
